The fall will cause damage unless you have a way to mitigate that (Fall Control). Collect that, then decide if you want one more - you can drop off the right side of the ladder (facing it) to reach the corpse you passed on the way up, and you can collect one more Soul of a Proud Knight, but the only way off the corpse-ledge is to drop. On the left, lying on the edge, will be a corpse with another Large Soul of a Proud Knight. From here head back to the platform ladder. Head back down the ramp to the ledges above the platform in the corner farthest from the ladders you will be above another corpse with an item. From up here, climb the dirt ramp you see to find a corpse with a Large Soul of a Proud Knight. Climb the ladder there, follow the path, and climb the next ladder to get above the landing. Clear them, then find the alcove on the left-side wall. At the top of the ladder is a landing with two more Giant Skeletons on it. You'll pass a corpse with an item on the way leave it for now. At the top you will find a Giant Skeleton and a Giant Skeleton Archer (and you'll be under fire from a second, unreachable Giant Skeleton Archer, too). With the Ember acquired, head up the ladder from the arena, back to the ledge, then turn right and go up the large ramp. For fighting options, pure melee will have the most difficult time one recommendation is to drop gently into the gap opposite the ladder, immediately put your back to the wall, and raise your shield. These all move fast, all swing two-handed swords, and all of their swords can cause Bleeding. When you hit the bottom, freeze! You're now above a chamber holding SIX Giant Skeletons. Descend quickly, as you'll be under fire from Giant Skeleton Archers nearby. You'll soon see a square hole in the ground with a ladder down. Turn left from the top of the hidden passage. You may want to spend as many souls as you can, as this next part is quite dangerous. Turn right at the end of the hidden passage and follow the ledge back to the Bonfire ladder. Strike the wall to open a hidden passage. The ladder leads to a cave with a dead end. Towards the end are three more Bone Towers to slay. With the Pit cleared out, head back towards Rhea, then up the tunnel where you found Vince and Nico. Note that Bone Towers can also drop White Titanite Chunks, so you may want to put on your best Item Find gear before engaging. They can also fall on you, but overall should pose little danger. Bone Towers take a moment to spin up and then flail their arms at you, but their range is relatively short. Come down the ramp slowly and try to engage them one at a time. Take care, as when you loot the corpse you will introduce four Bone Tower enemies to the Pit beneath you. This will lead up to a corpse with a White Titanite Chunk. Follow the wall around until you find a ramp. Come back to the Chasm and this time head left. She will give you the Replenishment miracle, which restores HP over time. When both are dead, return to Rhea and talk to her agan. Both are shielded clerics, and at least one of them can cast healing miracles, so prepare to be aggressive to prevent healing. Proceed along the wall to find a tunnel entrance, where you will be attacked by two Hollows - Vince and Nico. Rhea will warn you that her escort was Hollowed and lurks nearby. You will encounter Rhea sitting by a pillar. You must hold it out like you were blocking to activate the light.) Face out to the chasm, then turn to your right and follow the wall. (The Lantern can be used as a light source in your shield slot, if you have no other means available. You will fall during a cutscene and will take no damage from the transition.Īfter the cutscene, loot the three corpses for 2x Large Soul of a Proud Knight and a Skull Lantern. He primarily sells Cleric gear, but also sells humanities and other goods.) Patches will help you down - by delivering his foot to your rump. If you say Yes, you will have to fight him later if you say No, you will be able to turn Patches into a Merchant. (Patches hates Clerics, so consider your answer carefully. This is Patches, a thoroughly disreputable man. The passage remains open after death.Ĭlimb back up the bonfire ladder and speak to the NPC. Follow along the small ledge until just before a pile of bones, then strike the left wall to open up a hidden passage leading down to the Pit. If you die in this region and wish to go back to the Pit, you don't have to throw yourself down! Climb the ladder from the first bonfire and head immediately to the right.
